Skënder Paturri është student i Shkencave Kompjuterike i cili vazhdon masterin në Universitetin e Saarland në Gjermani i sponsorizuar nga bursa gjermane DAAD. Përpara transferimit në Gjermani, Skënderi ka kryer studimet Bachelor në degën Inxhinjeri Kompjuterike pranë Universitetit Politeknik të Tiranës. Pasi kreu studimet, ai ka punuar pranë kompanisë ALBtelecom dhe IMB në pozicionin e Software Engineer, ku edhe ka zhilluar programe të ndryshme. Si freelancer, ai ka zhvilluar një program për një kompani lider në fushën e online shopping.
Aktualisht Skënderi po zhvillon tezën e diplomës e cila fokusohet në kërkimin e thelluar shkencor rreth teknikave më të reja në fushën e Deep Learning për video understaning pranë insititutit kërkimor Max Plank Informatics. Ai i kushton rëndësi të madhe zhvillimeve më të fundit teknologjike sepse beson fort se e ardhmja do të bazohet në teknologji dhe që ajo do të ndryshojnë mënyrën e perceptimit të gjërave aktuale.

Duke qenë se ju jeni ndër të rinjtë më energjikë dhe me një pasion të madh për teknologjinë, kemi menduar t’ju drejtojmë 5 pyetje kryesore në këtë intervistë në mënyrë që motivimi dhe eksperienca juaj të arrijnë edhe tek lexuesit tanë të etur për dije dhe sukses. Le të fillojmë me pyetjen e parë.
Pyetja e parë : Cilat mendoni se kanë qenë sfidat dhe sukseset më të mëdha në rrugëtimin tuaj?
Përgjigje : Rreth kësaj pyetje do thoja se një ndër sfidat më të mëdha që kam hasur ka qenë reflektimi dhe kuptimi i thënies “success is not an overnight journey“, dhe që konsistenca apo vazhdueshmëria është çelsi më i rëndësishëm që hap portat drejt suksesit.
Kur diçka bëhet e dukshme dhe kur arrihet krijimi i zakoneve pozitive ditore, kjo mund të jetë një ndër aspektet më të rëndësishme të arritjes së këtyre sukseseve. Personalisht e di vështirësinë e të punuarit fort, por në fund kur sheh pas tek një produkt përfundimtar kupton se e gjitha ja ka vlejtur. Për mua çdo punë e bërë në aspektin profesional është një sukses.
Pyetja e dytë : Çfarë këshillash do ti jepnit dikujt që dëshiron të ndjekë një rrugëtim të ngjashëm?
Përgjigje : Përpara se ti jap dikujt një këshillë do thoja se këshilla që unë do kisha dashur që dikush të më jepte në fillimet e studimeve do të ishte të mos mbingarkohesha nga një fushë aq e gjerë studimesh, por të fokusohesha në perfeksionimin e gjërave fondamentale. Këtë e shpjegon edhe vetë shprehja “suksesi është aty ku përgatitja takon mundësinë“. Çështja është se mundësia do të vijë gjithmonë por pyetja lind se a është përgatitja në nivelin e duhur për ta mirëpritur këtë mundësi. Sigurisht, kjo mbetet në duart tona për ta arritur apo jo. Kjo pra do ishte edhe këshilla kryesore që unë do i jepja gjithkujt që fillon rrugëtimin e tij.
Nga ana tjetër, një këshillë akoma më praktike do ishte mundësia që gjithkush ka në shfrytëzimin e resorseve online. Ne duhet të kuptojmë se për çdo gjë që duhet të mësojmë dhe për çdo problem që mund të hasim diku në internet mund të ekzistojë një zgjidhje. Prandaj, askush prej nesh nuk mund të ketë justifikime për të mos mësuar diçka.
Pyetja e tretë : Sipas jush, cilat janë karakteristikat e domosdoshme të një lideri dhe pse?
Përgjigje : Në mendimin tim të qënit lider është diçka tepër e vështirë për tu arritur, kjo për arsye se shumë lehtë dëshira për të qenë lider mund të transformohet në një luftë të brendshme me egon personale. Në fakt, qëllimi i çdo lideri është dhe duhet të jetë udhëzimi dhe formimi i liderave të tjerë. Në njëfarë pike, ky rrugëtim bën që vetë lideri të mos jetë më i rëndësishëm kur secili prej ndjekësve të tij i ka të qartë hapat që duhet të ndjekë për vazhdimësinë e një kauze të caktuar. Prandaj, unë mendoj se të qenit i përulur dhe i thjeshtë në shërbim të atyre që vijnë pas tij janë ndër karakteristikat më të domosdoshme të një lideri.
Pyetja e katër : Cili është libri më i bukur që keni lexuar dhe që ju ka inspiruar deri më sot?
Përgjigje : Unë do thoja se një ndër librat më motivues që unë kam hasur gjatë leximeve të mia ka qenë “Man’s Search for Meaning” nga Viktor Frankl. Ky libër më ka mësuar të ndihem mirënjohës për gjërat më bazike të jetës si liria. Njëkohësisht, duke lexuar këtë libër kupton se lumturia dhe qëllimi mund të gjenden dhe në situatat më tragjike apo dhe në gjërat më të thjeshta.
Pyetja e pestë : Ku e shihni veten tuaj në të ardhmen dhe cili do jetë kontributi juaj për shqiptarët?
Përgjigje : Një ndër qëllimet e mia të së ardhmes është të jem një kontibues në fushën e teknologjisë për Shqipërinë, shtet i cili mund të jetë shumë më i zhvilluar në këtë aspekt nga ç’është sot. Gjithashtu, mendoj se një kombinim i teknologjisë me arsimimindo të ishte diçka shumë e rëndësishme për Shqipërinë e ditëve të sotme dhe atë të nesërme, fushë në të cilën dëshiroj gjithashtu të kontriboj.

Skender Paturri, researcher at the Max Planck Institute passionate about computer science and technology
Skënder Paturri is a computer science student pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Saarland in Germany sponsored by the German DAAD scholarship. Prior to his transfer to Germany, Skënderi completed his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Tirana. After completing his studies, he worked at ALBtelecom and IMB in the position of Software Engineer, where he also developed various programs. As a freelancer, he has developed a program for a leading company in the field of online shopping.
Skënderi is currently working on his diploma thesis which focuses in deep scientific research on the latest techniques in the field of Deep Learning for video understanding at the Max Plank informatics research institute. He attaches great importance to the latest technological developments because he strongly believes that the future will be based on technology and that it will change the way we perceive current things.
Hello Skender Paturri, thank you for accepting the invitation for the interview in “Future Albanian Leaders”. As you are one of the most energetic young people with a great passion for technology, we thought we would ask you 5 key questions in this interview so that your motivation and experience can reach our readers eager for knowledge and success. Let’s start with the first question.
First question: What do you think have been the biggest challenges and successes in your journey?
Answer: Regarding this question, I would say that one of the biggest challenges I have encountered has been the reflection and understanding of the saying “success is not an overnight journey”, and that consistency is the most important key that opens the door to success. When something becomes apparent and the creation of positive daily habits is achieved, this can be one of the most important aspects of achieving these successes. Personally, I know the difficulty of hard working, but in the end when you look back at a final product you realize that it was all worth it. For me every work done in professional terms is a success.
Second question: What advice would you give to someone who wants to follow a similar path?
Answer: Before giving someone a piece of advice I would say that the advice I would have wanted someone to give me at the beginning of my studies would be not to be overwhelmed by such a wide field of study, but to focus on perfecting fundamental things. This is explained by the expression “success is where preparation meets opportunity”. The point is that opportunity will always come but the question arises whether the preparation is at the right level to welcome this opportunity. Of course, this remains in our hands to achieve it or not. So, this would be the main advice I would give to anyone starting their journey.
On the other hand, an even more practical tip, would be the opportunity that everyone has in using online resources. We need to understand that for everything we need to learn and for every problem we may encounter somewhere on the internet there can be a solution. Therefore, none of us can have excuses for not learning something.
Third question: In your opinion, what are the essential characteristics of a leader and why?
Answer: In my opinion being a leader is something very difficult to achieve, this is because the desire to be a leader can very easily be transformed into an internal struggle with personal ego. In fact, the goal of any leader is and should be to guide and train other leaders. At some point, this journey makes the leader himself no longer important when each of his followers clearly has the steps to follow for the continuation of a certaine cause. Therefore, I think being humble and simple in the service of those who come after him are among the most essential characteristics of a leader.
Fourth question: What is the most beautiful book you have read and that has inspired you to date?
Answer: I would say that one of the most motivating books I have come across during my readings has been “Man’s Search for Meaning” by Victor Frankl. This book has taught me to feel grateful for the most basic things in life like freedom for example. At the same time, reading this book made me realize that happiness and purpose can be found in even the most tragic situations or even in the simplest things.
Fifth question: Where do you see yourself in the future and what will be your contribution to Albanians?
Answer: One of my future goals is to be a contributor in the field of technology in Albania, a country which can be much more developed in this aspect than it is today. Moreover, I think that a combination of technology with education would be something very important for Albania today and tomorrow, an area in which I also want to contribute.
